Jon Krakauer's style uses unstructured order, in which he tells his story not following a chronological order of events, but rather jumping from past, present, and future. Throughout the entire story, Into The Wild, Krakauer tells the story starting off with telling the reader about what happens in the future, or end of the book. Krakauer continues to repeat this pattern by jumping from past stories leading up to the plot, to the current events happening in the story.
